Alright, what have we got here? Harmony thumbed through the school library books, her fingers coming to rest on The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan. Smiling, she took the book and strode across the room. She promptly sat down in a quiet, unoccupied corner. Or so she thought. “Oh!”…

“Me neither.” Harmony smiled tentatively, looking from the bespectacled girl in front of her to her novel and back. “I’m, um, Harmony,” she said, offering a hand to the blonde. “Would it be okay if I could just sit and read here?”

Sierra looked down, “Sierra…” She smiled slightly. She moved her stuff out of the way fro Harmony to sit, “Be my guest.”

Come on, talk more than this! Sierra thought to herself, hoping her nervousness would go away. She was beginning to really like the idea of making new friends at Amun.

Harmony smoothed her skirt and sat down primly next to Sierra. “That’s a pretty name,” she tried, running her fingers across the cover of The Lost Hero. “So…” She tried not to sigh. It seemed that Sierra wasn’t much of a conversationalist either. “Um… what are you reading?”

Sierra’s eyes shifted to the cover of her book, and she held it over for Harmony to see. “Mockingjay… I gave Mara The Hunger Games and it re-sparked my interest in the series.” Sierra set the book down, trying to fight the awkward tension she was creating. “You?”

“Oh, I’ve read The Hunger Games. It really was amazing, wasn’t it? Suzanne Collins is a genius.” Harmony bit her lip to keep herself from babbling. Focus, focus. “This?” She held up her own novel, pointing the dragon on the cover. “It’s The Lost Hero. A spin-off of Percy Jackson, my all-time favorite book series. Have… have you read them?”
